How can I hook up my pioneer receiver vsx917v to a new lg 4K tv I have tried every connection it has hdmi

I would like to use my older stereo receiver with my new LG 4K smart tv

I think most likely the stereo has RCA analog inputs and you can usually get that from the headphone out on the TV or you could also connect to one of the digital audio outputs on the TV and use a converter to convert to analog RCA and input that into the receiver.

on page 13 use the digital audio port on the tv to the receiver. in the tv audio setting you may have to change it from onboard speakers to ext or sound bar or digital audio out.
