How can I put my Sony home theatre system in surround mode

I have Sony home theatre, only one rear or front speaker at a time, means two front speakers not functioning at a time. I want surrounding mode.

To me it sounds like your speakers are not connected properly.

Press the audio button on remote until 'stereo' is lit up on the LCD screen.

I'd the audio is only 2 channel then use the 'sound mode' button to enable simulated surround sound.

Movie for 5 speaker audio on video/movies
BGM for 5 speaker audio on music
