How can I record / input audio to my pc through usb port?

I have a device that outputs audio, through a micro usb slot.
When I purchased it also came with a micro usb -- usb cable.

I plug the micro usb into the device, and the usb into the my PC (running windows 8.1 btw).
But I don't know how to make the pc record the audio.

I need some help to get this to work. thank you for your time.

Press the Windows key on the keyboard and type Sound Recorder (build into Windows). In device manger, make sure the external usb device is set as the input. Should be able to play on device and hit record on the app.

If you need more advanced editing/mixing software you can google that (good free ones out there).
