How can I use my laptop as a monitor for my desktop? I have a desktop with no monitor with a VGA hookup in the back . I have a laptop that has a VGA hookup. Can I use the laptop as a monitor for my desktop? I see this questions asked but I do not see an answer. Is this not possible? Yes, I do have a vga cord.

You cannot do that. The video ports on your laptop are outputs, not inputs. A laptop cannot <directly> act as a monitor for another computer.
