How come my dvd drive does not show up??

Does it show up in my computer if there is a cd or DVD with data on the disk ?

It doesn't show under my computer or my pc and not in device manager either. And what are you suppose to look under device manager, disk drives?

Hi

In device manager it will be DVD/CD-ROM Drives

If not shown in Device manager
either problem with power or data cable (connection)
or dead electronics on DVD Drive
or very badly corrupted registry

check if POST shows a DVD Drive if so

See if you can bootup from a bootable CD or DVD in the DVD Drive (eg Windows DVD)
