hi I have a windows 7 starter netbook eepc I don't know how to format it can you help ialso have forgotten my pssword its acer

Solution
You can format it the same way you can with any other PC: Windows DVD, OEM recovery software, or third party software.

You only want to format it? Or do you want to reinstall Windows (or another operating system)?

Note you will lose ALL settings and ALL personal data, from photos to favourites. Oh, and you'll get all the trialware back, lose all your install programs (maybe licenses?).

- you can choose from a selection of videos

Really, you might be better identifying the cause- uninstall unwanted programs that start up automatically, use task manager to check CPU usage - and **** especially how much RAM you are using.
There's probably only 1Gb on your PC, so if you are running multiple programs that WILL slow you down.

Check it's responsive in Safe Mode- if so, solve normal mode by decluttering your PC- make sure only essential programs are running.

The above links tell you how to reset your PC to the state when you bought it, which is why I posted them. Have you looked at them?
If you're unable to follow the instructions there, I can only suggest you ask a techy friend to help.

Most people who sell such netbooks etc follow this before the sell them on ebay, for example.

Saving your data means, in the simplest terms, copying it from your PC to another device attached to you r PC in some manner, whether that be over a LAN, to a separate disk via a USB connection, or to some online storage by internet.
