How do I get 5.1 audio from smart TV through amp with no digital optical or HDMI in ?

I want to get 5.1 audio directly from my TV into a DVD surround sound system that has no HDMI in or optical in , only red and white stereo inputs .any ideas? TV has arc ,optical etc .audio system does not

You may want that, but you can't get there. If the surround has no multi-channel inputs, you can't get multi-channel sound.

So youre telling me there are no adapters these days that can make it possible?

You said you only had stereo inputs. There is no way to get 5.1 from stereo inputs. You could get simulated surround sound but not 5.1. What kind of "adapter" could there be?

If you want just a connection, rather than your 5.1 requirement, you can get one of these -- https://www.amazon.com/Panlong-Optical-Toslink-Coaxial-Converter/dp/B00ANIIY9I which will take your optical out from the TV and output RCA stereo. You won't get true 5.1.

3.5mm male audio plug on one end of cable and probably 4 RCA connectors on other end to go into your stereo. 3.5mm audio plug goes into headphone socket on TV.
