How do I hook up my RCA sound bar to my 65" RCA curve tv

I have a RCA 65" curved tv. I'm trying to hook up my RCA sound bar with the optical cable. I'm not having any luck. My tv settings doesn't have an option to turn off internal speakers

Without model number we can't give you an exact answer.
If they both have optical then you may have to turn it on and change the audio output type in the TV audio menu. Check the TV manual. Make sure you have selected optical as your source on the soundbar.

Model number for tv is RTUC6520 Model number for sound bar is ITB283B

There's no information online about the TV connection options. The model number is for an iLive not RCA soundbar,
Digital optical audio connection should be fine.

Yes I swapped from RCA to ilive. But it's still no sound coming out. Only if I hook it up to the cable box. But when I switch to DVD or my fire stick it still playing sound from the cable box. But thanks for the help
