How do i replace a usb device

I have a LG phone with an AT&T provider...i'ave jus bought a USB adapter...and everytime i plug in the device into the computer it keep saying "device not recognized...i would like to know what can i do to troubleshoot this problem?

You need to load the software on your computer. Some phones come with a cd just insert that into your computer and install. Otherwise you can check the LG website with your phone model to see if they offer the software.
