How do I unlock my keyboard on latitude e6510

I was typing, hit the wrong keys and the computer went into lock mode. How do I get it out of lock mode

What you mean "Lock mode"? Do you see a screen to enter your password?
Try pressing <Ctrl><Alt><Del> to get you to the log-in screen. If you are using non-English keyboard layout, switch to English first (so that you don't try to enter your password with eg Chinese letters)
