How do you make a clone?

Hi, Cybertechs,

I am going to make a clone and so I need to know what the basic elements are in this process 😉

Key elements are basic steps that need to be done no matter what clone program that you use

I am trying to make a backup, and have just recently lost an entire 20 gigs of data. I want to make sure that I am doing it correctly so that this does not happen again

I have made a clone, but am not sure if I did it correctly.

AND, I am not sure about the details about how to restore this clone file.

How exactly do you do this? [Do you have to use the same program to restore the file?]
