how good is windows defender in windows 8.1?

how good is windows defender in windows 8.1? I've come to know its very light. It is like a ninja in the dark, you know its there but I want to know it could defend my pc's pride or not? 😀 It would be helpful for me....thanks in advance

seriously, get a antivirus (like avast or something) and a decent wall'o'fyre (like comodo)... round it up with spybot s&d and you're fixed 😀

currently im hooked up with iobit advanced care pro and windows defender....my pc is running well too....it takes around 5 seconds and lower for my pc to boot up but i dont know how protected i am against threats.......and using those antivirus and programs might hog my system i presume so i would love something light yet powerful against threats

well, avast is faster than default windows solution.

also, you can check that site for even better antivirus solution than avast, if you like 😀

as for the rest - i run the exact combination on my portable typewriter (aspire switch 10), and everything is fine (comodo is sometimes too paranoid, but so am i) 😀
