Why can't you uninstall the driver? A standard fix is to uninstall it and reboot (which doesn't require the keyboard). Then when it restarts it should auto reinstall the driver it needs.
Should that not fix it, and both keyboards not work correctly, and the external one has been tested on another device and works fine (if not done, I would do that now), then I would suggest starting up in "Safe Mode" and see if you get the problem in there or not.
