240GB HDD
4GB RAM

Runs:
BF3 on High settings at 50-70 fps

How to calculate system depreciation:

Take what you paid for it, subtract salvage value (if there is any), divide it by the life of the system and multiply by the month of sale.

For instance say you paid $1500 for the system, there's a salvage value of $150, and you're selling it in May and you've had it 3 years.

(($1500 - $150)/3) * (7/12) = $712.80

$1500 - $712.80 = $787.20

You can expect to sell your system for $787.20.

You can look on ebay and do a search for completed listings then click "sold only" then take an average on the recent results. that's how I determine used gear worth.

I seriously doubt your frame rates, but w/e.

The laptop's hardware has components that are 3 generations old, and the specs aren't even that great.

I wouldn't pay more than $350 for it.

You cannot use a linear depreciation method here. Value drops much quicker in the first few years after it was bought.

That isn't worth anything near $800, more like $400.
