I'm curious what amount of sent data is cause for alarm in the Task Manager. Thanks.

There is no normal ansswer to this question, it depends on the situation.

If you're uploading files it could be huge.

However, if you've just booted your PC and its sitting there idle with no programs running and you see gigabytes of data being uploaded, thats a problem. Likely a virus.

So gigabytes of data is most likely a virus? Okay, I'm sitting around some kilobytes received/sent every few seconds with web browsers and such open, so that's good. Thanks for the info.

basically if you're not doing anything and no programs are open and theres a lot of data transmitting, thats a problem.

However youre saying you have web browsers and programs open, there is ALWAYS going to be data flowing in and out.

And a lot of data usually is in gb?

well your connection is likely not enough to transmit in gbps, but if you see a lot of mbps and you are not doing anything at all (AND you have no programs open or running) then maybe something is going on.

This is an extremely unlikely scenario.

Okay yeah, you're right. Will the graph extend if that is happening? It only goes up to 100 kbps.
