How to boot to ubuntu on hp laptop

I have a hp EliteBook 8470p and I need to boot to boot to the hhd with ubuntu but every time I try it goest to the Hardware diagnostics

Turn your laptop on, and intermediately press ESC button until start menu appears, then press F9 to select the boot device.
If you want always to start the ubuntu, you should change in the bios options.

I have it installed and I boot to the hhd but it gives "No bootable image found" I have tried reinstalling meany times. And I have also hunted over the bios.

Are you running UEFI or Legacy Bios? Which version of Ubuntu are you running? are you doing dual boot?

No it is not.

Are you running UEFI or Legacy Bios? Which version of Ubuntu are you running? are you doing dual boot?

I have tryed both UEFI and Legacy non work and Ubuntu 16.04 x64 no single boot.
