how do you change or check to see if your bios will permit booting from a cd or dvd when the system will not boot

First, do a step by step analysis and determine what is preventing the computer from booting. Start with the power supply, AC Adapter, battery.Then listen for beeps and look up the beep codes list in your Acer manual.

This will tell you what the problems are. Correct these problems. Then boot, press the appropriate function key (F2? F8?) and then change the boot sequence as you wish.
