Step 1: If you are using Google Chrome, first open a new tab. Look to the far right of the browser bar, and you will see an icon with three lines on top of each other. Click that icon and select “More tools.” Under “More tools,” you will see “Clear browsing data.”
Select “Clear browsing data,” and a tab will open with a few options for you to delete your browser history, delete your cookies and more. A drop-down menu will indicate that you will delete your browser history for an hour. You can clear your data for that amount of time or clear your history from “the beginning of time.” You may also use the keyboard shortcut, Ctrl+Shift+Delete, to access the “Clear browsing data” prompt.

Step 2: To clear your browser history on Mozilla Firefox, first launch Firefox. Navigate to the open menu on the right side of the screen, shown with three lines on top of each other. Click the menu and then click the History icon in the middle, shown with a clock.
In the History menu, select “Clear Recent History.” A prompt will pop up with a drop-down menu that shows the option to clear your history in the last hour. Like with Chrome, you can click the drop-down menu and clear all your history.

Step 3: For Internet Explorer, first open the browser. On the main menu, right below the address bar, click Tools. Under Tools, you will see an option to delete your browsing history. You can also access this by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Delete.
The prompt gives you a few options of what to delete and allows you to preserve your favorites, or bookmarks. You can uncheck and check any box you want.

Recap: Deleting your browsing history is simple in many popular browsers, but remember that other websites may still know that you have visited there with the use of cookies. Use Google Chrome’s Incognito function to safely browse in the future.
