How do you hook up cable, tv, dvd and bose system. I have 1 hdm1 cable, 1 optical cable and several other red, white, yellow cables and 1 red, green and blue.

Without makes and model number there is no way to give you a specific answer.
In general you would connect the cable box and DVD to the TV with HDMI. The TV optical audio output would send audio to the Bose. Check the TV and Bose manual on how to use the optical connections.
If the Bose doesn't have optical audio in or the TV did not have a headphone jack then a converter would be needed.
