Solved! How to extend monitor

my t500 will only allow me to clone on single monitor. Is there anything i can do to extend the monitor?

in catalyst control center, go preference, select advance view, under desktop management, right click the second display monitor and select extend.

Remember in order to extend both screen resolutions has to be set to the same.
