The smarter our smartphones become, the more demands they place on the battery. Battery life is a balancing act between using your phone how you want and making the battery last the day. If you’re having trouble finding that balance, we are here to help. Read on to learn some simple steps to extend the battery life of your Galaxy S7!

Analyze battery usage
Android Marshmallow has a useful app that lets you see exactly what is draining your Galaxy S7. If you have used it for a while, it should give you a good indication of what is draining power.

1. Access the Settings menu and select Battery.
2. Analyze the list of power hungry apps.
3. Select any you can live without and toggle them off or uninstall them.

Battery saving mode
The Galaxy S7 comes with two battery saving modes built-in. They are ‘Power saving mode’ and ‘Ultra power saving mode’. They will each do what they can to reduce power consumption immediately or at a preconfigured battery percentage.

To enable power saving:
1. Access the Settings menu and select Battery.
2. Select Power saving mode or Ultra power saving mode.

Power saving mode will stop a lot of background services that would usually run and drain power. That includes things like fetching emails, using location services unless you’re in the relevant app and slowing down the chipset.

Ultra power saving mode goes a little further by turning almost everything off except the phone, SMS and browser apps. It will also dim the display, reduce the colors and stop as many background processes as possible.

Other tweaks to extend the battery life of your Galaxy S7
There are a few small tweaks you can make to add a few extra hours of battery life without doing anything drastic.

1. Access the Settings menu and disable Always-on display with the toggle switch.
2. Access the App Drawer and delete any apps you’re not likely to use by selecting Edit and selecting the apps to uninstall.
