how to fix a white screen on a windows 7

Was using my laptop last night and then I closed it and went to bed like normal. Then I got up this morning to use it again and it turns on and I hear everything reboot but the screen is just white. What do I do?

Hi, try an external monitor if you have one. Also what is the make and model of your laptop?
