How to fix usb to toshiba laptop

what can i do if my usb device is not recognize but the status is working properly.. please help me.. tnx

Does the device work alright on another PC? If so, you can try updating/reinstalling the chipset from your laptop manufacturer's support site. Doing so will reset the USB controllers.
