how to get Sony DVD player to work as my cable connection on Visio tv

My cable connector is broke can I put the cable cord on my Sony DVD player and watch cable on my tv that way

Sorry but there is no way to do that. You can only connect it to something with a tuner. If you are using a OVA antenna then you would need to buy a HD OVA Tuner. If it is cable then you would need a cable box or QAM cable tuner.
