how to make the runner in temple run 2 move from side to side if the gestures won't work

In temple run 2 I can't move the player from side to side by moving the phone the way it shows. Sometimes it will work but most the time it won't. Is there any way I can fix it? I play it on an LG smart phone.

That is the only way, if it does not work try re-installing the game, try rebooting the phone. Do other things work OK with phone motions? Like screen rotation or other games that need gyroscope working?
