how to open cd drive on my toshiba satellite C55-B5298

Or highlight the drive, right click and select eject. Or there should be a tiny hole that you can put a paper clip into. Surely there is a button!

this model has a fake door. it doesn not contain an optical (dvd/bluray/cd) drive of any sort.

I found out on accident. we ordered a Toshiba C55 series with an optical drive (paid $75.00 more for that option). as I was setting it up (adding office, removing all the garbage software they come with), I saw the fake DVD door, then realized, there's no hardware, no button, no pinhole...just a false plastic cover that looks like every DVD drive out there.

me too. what did you do? my printer has a cd of software and I have cds with pictures

portable dvd burners work great and don't cost too much.
