The only 100% guaranteed way to be secure on the internet is to not be on the internet at all. Of course this is difficult (if not impossible), so there are some things that people can do to make themselves a little safer. Almost every site one goes to requires an account, which takes a username or email address and a password. Web browsers save passwords by default, but you can prevent your web browser from saving your passwords. Just follow these simple steps in order to make sure your passwords aren’t saved.

1. Chrome- There are 3 lines just to the right of the address bar. Click this icon, then click Settings from the drop-down menu. Scroll down and click on Advanced Settings. Under Passwords and forms, uncheck the box that says Offer to save your web passwords.

2. Internet Explorer- Go to Tools, then Internet Options, then Content, then Settings (next to Auto-Complete), uncheck the user names and passwords, click Form data, click Delete Passwords. This deletes passwords that were already saved.

3. Mozilla Firefox- Click Tools, then Options, then Privacy, then Security, then uncheck “Remember passwords for sites”.

4. Safari- Select Preferences from the drop-down menu. Click on Auto-Fill section, then Edit by User Names and Passwords. Click Remove All.

This will delete passwords that have been previously saved and prevent the browsers from saving your passwords in the future, adding some security to your browsing.
