How to repair bose headphones

My cat ate through the main Bose headphone wire. I spliced it open and saw that there are three wires... a red green and gold. I tried reattatching the wires but I still cant get any sound? any suggestions?

OK, you can actually go to a bose dealer and order the cable, but it will cost plenty.
