Geo-fencing can restrict data or communication to a certain area. Yik Yak uses this service to restrict communications to certain colleges and areas.
1. The geofencing feature in Yik Yak is available to elementary to high schools only. To request for a geofence, go to the Yik Yak website and click "Support."
2. On the "Support" page, you will see menu on the right. Click "Geofence Request."
3. After clicking, you will be asked about your name, your relationship to the school, and other related information.
4. You will also be asked about the latitude and longitude coordinates of the school you are requesting a geofence for. The geofence will take effect after 72 hours.
