Resetting your Nook tablet is simple to do. This however will cause your device to forget any recent searches or commands, but it will not erase any data.
Step 1: Press and hold the power button until the screen turns black. This can take up to 20 seconds.
Step 2: After the screen turns off you can release the power button.
Step 3: Briefly press and hold the power button to turn your device back on.
If you want to reset your device to factory settings, then perform the steps listed below. Do not do this unless you are really sure that you are okay with losing all of your data or if a customer service representative instructs you to do so.

Step 2: Click “Settings.”
Step 3: Under “Device Settings,” click “Device.”
Step 4: Click “Erase and Deregister Device.” If you are still unsure about resetting your device to the default settings, then DO NOT click this button.
