Question How to secure own smart home in student house network?

Hi,

I need some advice. Next month I'm gonna move into a apartment in a student house. Unfortunately I can't have my own wifi network, but need to share one.
If I'm gonna use my smart home setup (Google home, Smart TV, lights, etc.), can other users of the same network then somehow access my devices? If so, how can I secure my devices the best?

Is it maybe possible to connect them to a separate router which is then again connected to the main wifi network? Or something like that?

Sorry if my question maybe sounds stupid..

You can hide your WiFi name to avoid this issue. I had also lived in hostel so I used to hide my WiFi name so no one can recognize it.
