Do Not Disturb is one of the most useful quality of life improvements to come with Android Marshmallow and everyone should use it. Not just so you don’t get interrupted during meetings but so you can have some real peace and quiet during your day. Here’s how to set up Do Not Disturb on your Galaxy S7.

There is a huge conversation happening about how we don’t switch off enough, or how we are always working even when we’re not. Always checking emails, taking calls and having home life interrupted by distractions from our smartphones. Regardless of the reasons, using Do Not Disturb can seriously improve your quality of life.

Set up Do Not Disturb on the Galaxy S7
Fortunately, setting up Do Not Disturb on a Galaxy S7 is simple.

1. Navigate to Settings and Sound & vibrations.
2. Select Do Not Disturb and enable now.
3. Also enable as schedule should you wish to.
4. Set your schedule, add exceptions and allow alarms to alert you if you use them.

You can allow exceptions by selecting the option. You can now select whether to just allow alarms or set a custom exception. Custom exceptions are very useful if you want to block some calls but not others. For example, avoiding calls from friends or from work but allowing calls through from your partner or family is a great way to stay in contact with those important to you while avoiding those you want to avoid.

Spending some time in the Allow exceptions menu can allow you to fully customize your phone to give you that much needed downtime without going completely off grid. I use it all the time!
