What kind of cord do I need to pass the music from Android phone to MP3 player

Directly? I'm not sure that's going to be too easy (even if possible). Probably a USB OTG adapter and a USB to relevant connector for the MP3 player.

The easiest route would be to connect them both to a PC. Should be be available as "mass storage device", and you could drag/drop between the two.
