How to turn on a laptop without if power button is broken

This is not a question i just did not know where to post it.

How you do it is you literally hotwire the thing. If you have the ribbon wire still glued/soldered to the button then take another ribbon wire and touch the ends to eacher other with the extra ribbon wire plugged into the MOBO. Then press the power button. It should turn on.

OK, I moved this post to the laptop section but I'm not clear on your methodology. Could you clarify, please?

If the button is broken, you can usually remove it and use a pencil to press the micro switch the button used to press.
