Solved! How to undo password encryption for folders on Windows 10?

I used this tutorial to set a password for folders on my external drive: https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/password-protect-folder-windows-10 . But is there a way to undo this process? Any assistance is appreciated.

open the folder with your password. copy the data from the "protect" folder out.
make sure you did copy the data out, double check. not just link, the file. open it to make sure

delete the folderlocker you created
