Solved! How to use my 144hz monitor with my laptop?

I recently purchased this (https/www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y4GZS9C/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_apa_5cu8BbGMJ3KHY) laptop for school and soon realized that it was out performing my desktop in every way. I decided to try to game on my laptop instead, but I can't seem to get it to output more than 60hz to the monitor. I purchased a high quality HDMI cable that said it can support 240hz but in the Nvidia control panel I can only set the display to 60hz. Any suggestions help!

Hdmi 144/240Hz is monitor dependant, meaning not all hdmi monitors can do these refresh rates unless the manufacturer of that monitor allowed it which is not all that common.

What monitor is it? What connections does it have?

When I used it with my desktop it was on DVI so maybe that is the issue.

Yeah that monitor specifically requires DVI or DP for 144Hz. Unfortunately can't do anything with that monitor to get it working higher than 60Hz on Hdmi.
