The Voice Search feature on Roku’s enhanced remote is one of its best features, and it comes with almost every new Roku out there. The feature is elegant and usually gives reliable results. Follow these simple steps to make use of your remote’s voice search features.
1. Press the Search Button on the Roku Remote
Press and hold the 'Search' button on the enhanced Roku remote. You will find this button on the middle row of the keys – it has a symbol of a magnifying glass on it.
Once you hold the ‘Search’ button, Roku will start registering all nearby sound as search input, so make sure you keep it away from loud ambient noises. This will give more accurate search results.
2. Speak into the Microphone
Hold the ‘Search’ button down, and speak your search term into the remote’s microphone. Make sure you speak close to the microphone, and keep your tone clear. Roku will register your request and search through its directory for the spoken term.
When Roku has finished searching for content, it will display a list of all the available media under the search term.
3. Select Content to Play
Scroll through the content Roku displays and select your choice using the trackpad on your remote. This will make it play.
The voice feature makes searching for content in the Roku directory extremely simple and user friendly. You can even launch streaming channels using it.
Hold the search button to use the voice search feature, and you’re good to go.
