How towatch &/or stream movies to TV

*** I NEED YOUR HELP ***
I have a Samsung UN60J6200 60" LED TV.
I have a wireless modem/router (provided by the cable company).
I have an 8-TB USB hard drive connected to my PC that contains hundreds of movies.
I have the VLC media player (ver 2.2.6) on my PC, and I am running Windows 10 on my PC.
Can you please tell me the steps that I need to take in order to be able to stream the movies from my PC to my Samsung TV?
I'm no tech guru and new at this so please be as precise and detailed as possible with your response!
I'm told that streaming or utilizing some kind of web TV media player is the way to go. I'm not sure so I want to hear from the people in the know!.
I'm looking for the best, & easiest, & most economical way to do this.

The simplest way to do what you want is to enable the DLNA server in Windows 10 -- http/www.thewindowsclub.com/turn-windows-10-computer-dlna-streaming-server

BUT if both your PC and TV are connected wirelessly, your streaming may not be smooth. Optimally, your TV and video source should be connected via a wired ethernet. If you can't do that, one end should be wired (source is preferred).
