Greetings,
Right. I'm planning to wire up my Playstation 2 to my PC monitor (Dell US 24in) and was wondering how I allow this setup to play the game sound out of my speakers, and record the audio into the PC in real time.
The Playstation has RCA plugs; 1 for composite video, 2 for stereo sound. I've purchased a VGA switch box (http/www.amazon.co.uk/Proxima-Direct%C2%AE-S-Video-Composite-Converter/dp/B007BI90CS/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1395796147&sr=8-3&keywords=proxima+vga) that converts the composite video into a vga output and then onto my PC monitor. The 2 stereo phono plugs will plug into an adapter which changes them to a single 3.5mm jack.
Can I put the speaker jack and the PS2 audio jack into a twin female splitter-to-single 3.5mm jack and run it into my PC? The only reason I could see why it wouldn't work is because 2 separate audio feeds are being sent via 1 single jack.
Otherwise can this be done with an audio mixer or external sound interface? I would have to attach 1/4 in jack plugs to them and run the output into my PC
Would a cheap USB stereo sound card be sufficient to accept a second audio source? (http/www.amazon.co.uk/USB-Stereo-Sound-Card-Adaptor/dp/B003UR9B8M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1395795211&sr=8-1&keywords=stereo+usb+sound+card)
Suggestions?
Thanks, Paul
