HP ENVY 15-j151sa is it any good?

So basically just wondering if this laptop is any good, will be using it for University work, word processing and maybe running some software in my final year. Will also be taking it to a LAN party to play Dota 2 occasionally. It needed to have a 1080p screen to avoid compatibility issues with my TV and I much prefer it over the lower res screens.
System specs of the HP ENVY 15-j151sa are;
AMD A10-5750M APU
AMD HD 8650G + 8750M Dual Graphics
8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3L SDRAM (2 x 4 GB)
1 TB 5400 rpm SATA
15.6” 1920 x 1080 display
1 HDMI
1 headphone/microphone combo
4 USB 3.0
1 RJ-45
1 SD card reader

Also for £499 is it a good purchase?

It's okay... I guess. I've seen better computers with the A10-5750M though. MSI ones over at US Newegg have M290X GPU. But for ~$636 USD, I guess this is good.

Is it possible to upgrade the processor in this laptop? And if so which processors are compatible? Or how do i check compatibility? Or if i upgrade to say an Intel process instead of AMD will i need to replac emy graphics card? (Is this even possible?)

No point. You could perhaps "upgrade", but it's A8 and lower.
