just bought an hp laptop with only hdmi port and must connect to projectors with only vga. I was able to make the connection and get pictures on the screens. I went to the home screen and right clicked to bring up the "graphic options" menu but it is not there. need help finding a way to change the screens so they show the slide/presentation and not my work product on preview.

Have you tried using an adapter to connect them, then it should give you the options you need. Also, the computer may require additional drivers and/or software.

I have an adapter and it does show the presentation on the screen but I usually use graphic options which doesn't come up so I will try the driver solution. Other online responses say to take off what is on the computer and add Intel. Does this sound reasonable?

Well it may also be the program you are using, which is not allowing for the graphics options. What you see on the larger screen should be the same as what would be seen on the laptop. Add what from Intel? I am a tad confused on that.

OH and here is a link to the HP page on adding/using projectors, TVs, etc. http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01938980
