HP laptop won't power on

Hp 2000 purchased 2014 will not power on with ac adapter. Ac adapter lit green when plugged in but laptop won't power on.

have you tried removing your battery. and power on with only your AC adapter? the battery may be dead already and time for a replacement/

Yes, that's the first thing I tried. I also removed the battery, held the power button about 30 seconds with the lap top held upside down. I plugged in the AC adapter, pressed power & nothing happened.
