got laptop from a friend 6910p hp laptop will go to Non-System disk or disk error raybourdon@hotmail.com

Probable bad Hard Drive. If you have an operating system disc boot to it and see if it recognizes the HDD. If it does, do a full format before loading If you have any issues loading the Operating System, check the SMART status of the HDD.
