HP Omnibook 6100 Mini-PCI - IDE

Hello,
I would like to know whether it is possible to use a non-HP mini-pci card in the Omnibook 6100. There are two mini-pci slots but I am not sure they can be used for other but HP's own devices.

HP are reputed to slug their BIOS so you're stuck with their branded versions of cards. Even a functionally identical card from the same maker may not work.
