Either one would be a good choice.
For a pure gaming machine I think the nod should go to the ASUS G73SW-A1.
Slightly better CPU/GPU. The Hybrid HDD/SDD would also be a performance advantage.
1YR Accidental Damage warranty also a plus.

For an all-round entertainment machine, plus gaming on the side I'd favor the Envy 17.
3D ability for movies and 3D enabled games. Slightly better LCD screen and sound system.
