Hp pavilion m6 wont turn on

My HP m6 has been charging for 2 days, however when i unplug and try to boot it up, the battery indication LED flashes only amber 3 times and nothing happens.

Does it power on without the battery in the machine?

Remove battery ,insert ac adapter ,press and hold power button for 10 seconds ,restart,insert battery,power on .

No it doesnt, i have had this prob before as well... but somehow i managed to start it cos i saw the charging light come on at some point.
I knew that it had discharged this time, and was hoping that i could have done the same thing earlier to get it up, however am stuck now with no backup as well

its the motherboard which is faulty for sure, but living in india i dont have support from HP although i have an international warranty. they have said that it needs to go back to the US from where it was purchased... Feel totally cheated here and worse is not having access to my files!

Well your data certainly is not lost. You can always remove the hard drive and use an external enclosure to access files you may need.
