HP pavillion TX2000 screen or digitalizer smashed?

Hi all , i have a laptop which has a smashed digitalizer ? im not quite sure ive never replaced the screen in a touchscreen laptop.

can you tell me what i should do as the screen works perfect , if i could clear out all the glass would it all still work fine ? or would i need to buy the front part of the digitalizer? and also is it possible ? as it seems a waste to buy a whole screen when it appears to be working??

clear out the glass then see if it still woks and then you will have an idea where to go from there
