Question HTC Desire 310 not turning on after not being used for a year

I decided that I can use my old phone for something and tried to start it, but it doesn't want to boot up. No key combos do anything nor charging it or getting the battery off and on again. When I connect it to the PC sometimes it gives the sound like something is connected but then disconnects soon after and repeats randomly, so it means that It is still kinda alive. Does anybody have an idea if there is a way to get it back to life? I

I doubt anything short of a new battery will make this go away.
