I have the HTC Desire X, Updated to Android 4.1.1

When i go to Settings --> Storage

Under App Storage it says Total space is 2.91GB and Used space is 2.33GB.
I though this was very weird...

In 'other storage' it says 1.82GB! And thats alot of space. Is this normal?

Sorry for the late reply, been kinda swamped.

Still having trouble with your phone? :p

I would think that "other" refers to system files and the OS itself. What was the free space before the update?

Before the update, in the storage menu it said internal storage was 1.11GB. After the update, it shows Total Space 2.91GB

The update has caused 1 problem. While playing music loud speaker volume is low even on highest setting. But when im listening to music and a get another sound like a notification, volume level rises but after 5 seconds it just dies down.

I did a factory reset. Even that didnt work and my other storage is still 1.8GB

Older versions of Android didn't show you how large the OS install was. For example I have an HTC Desire Z, had it for a few years now. HTC advertised it as having 4GB internal storage, but you only see 2GB as the other two were system reserved. The update may simply be displaying the full capacity of the internal storage, and "other" would indicate the space taken by the OS.

Have you checked the audio settings to ensure that they are all set to the same level? That may fix the volume issue.

Try RocketPlayer - that's the one I use personally. Being an audiophile I love that it includes a feature for tweaking the EQ. It also has a pre-amp, so if the audio is quiet you can always turn up the amp.
