htc vive headset is trying to put 2 images into the lenses, tried adjusting both adjustments and nothing is working.

Ive adjusted both adjustment settings on the headset and its not working. My headset is trying to force my desktop background picture into the same screen/overlapping the game screen of steam, adjusting is doing nothing. I have my HDMI hooked up to my graphics card and a DVI - HDMI converter out of the computer to a tv also on the graphics card of the desktop. So far i have had no luck with anything, im getting very impatient as i really want to play this an i keep running into speed bumps. Please help.

It sounds like your PC us trying to make the HTC Vive your primary or extended display.

Do this if you haven't already fixed it.
1) disconnect the Vive and from the HDMI port.
2) reboot.
3) ensure the display connected is set to primary.
4) connect HTC Vive to hdmi. (It should not turn on)

After that it gets down to the and configurations. Not sure how you have your PC setup.
